Thank you for taking the time on a Tuesday evening to join us at RU Network Day 2020 in Rochester. It’s a great day to be a Tiger and we are honored to have you here with us.
Right now, across the globe, RU alumni are creating new businesses, developing new products, leading corporations, serving in the military, overcoming obstacles and challenging convention from Nigeria to Nevada, from Liberia to Louisiana, from Senegal to right here in Spencerport. This is you: the RU network. You who have worked tirelessly to build upon your dreams, who have solved problems and built your own adventures. I’d like to congratulate all of you for a “job well done.”
Now that we are here enjoying the summer weather, It’s hard to believe that we made it through another winter and graduated 1,000 RU students who are now on their way to creating and shaping the future in unimaginable ways. They are now part of your RU Network: a strong, growing team of innovators, creators and problem-solvers.
Before we begin our program, I’d like to thank the RU staff who worked so hard to make this program the success it is and I would like to especially thank Bob Smith ’91 and Katie Jones ’08 for hosting our event here at Solar Court.
More than 64,000 RU alumni form a special bond with each other and the global community. Together, we are stronger, together, we can build, together, we can show the world just what RU alumni can achieve.
RU Network Day is a terrific way to connect with each other, but don’t stop here. A vibrant, active network requires all of you to be engaged participants. Stay connected in person, during events, of course, but stay connected online as well. RU Alumni’s LinkedIn group now boasts nearly 9,000 members. If you aren’t already a member, now would be an ideal time to join.
So, what do you say: let’s connect, let’s build our network, let’s shape the future, and let’s go Tigers!
